---Troubleshoot STEPS
1. soft reset - is just turning tv off & back on
2. hard reset - unplug power to tv for 1 minute then connect power to your Flat-Screen
3. check for loose or bad connections on power-cord ect..
4. call TV manufactor tech-support # They on my Tampatec.Blogspot website on the right-side, TV may still covered by extended warranty if this was a factory flaw, mitsubshi still offers free DLP chips for a few of their TV models years ago...u don't know till you ask

RCA 50LB45RQ Service menu adjustment for main board replacement for a solarized picture.

 This repair tip if for an RCA model 50LB45RQ. This TV came in my shop dead. Only front panel red LED was on. All power supply voltages were present except the PS on voltage from main board did not change when I pressed the power button. This indicated a possible main board issue. After replacing the main board the TV came on but the picture was grainy and solarized. To correct this problem I had to enter the factory service menu by pressing the menu button on the remote followed by the numbers 1147 while the TV was on. After the service menu came up I scrolled down to the LVDS map and changed this setting to the option which said 8 bit A and my picture returned to normal.

Main board numbers I found for this TV were T.RSC8.1E11481 and 1A2E1039 The expanded number was 1A2E1039-000002148

LDC TV Repair made easy # 5

Many times bad capacitors can be momentarily restored to their normal capacity with the use of heat. This will not work if your capacitor is internally shorted or to dried out.. My demonstration is not meant to encourage the use of a hair dryer in place of a good capacitor tester but it can be helpful in doing a quick estimate.

How to troubleshoot and repair Switch Mode Power supplies at http://davestv.jestinemichellepow.cli... This book is a bit spendy but It really is a great book on switching power supplies. Jestine is good at getting right to the main points you need to understand about troubleshooting this kind of power supply and their associated feedback circuits.
Since a majority of the problems I have seen on LCD TVs are related to bad power supplies I'm glad I took the time to read this book . Most of it was easy reading with plenty of pictures and diagrams.

Even though this book was about computer monitor repair I found most of the troubleshooting techniques he demonstrates also applied to LCD TV repair so I was glad to have read it. Much like the book on Switch Mode Power Supplies it was easy to follow. It had lots of pictures and good troubleshooting techniques.

They are introducing a new XBR line of 4K TVs in 84-inch, 65-inch, and 55-inch sizes. Sony is starting to master content in 4K, as it has already done for movie theaters. Another new technology is Triluminous (which will increase colors),and will be introduced into its regular line of HDTVs. Sony also has the largest OLED 4K TV, in which a prototype was shown at CES 2013.
