Solution: Check the voltage at the outlet supplying power. If it is lower than 115 volts, there is a problem with your electrical
service or breaker. A bad turntable motor may also be the cause. To
check it, turn the microwave over onto its top. Remove the bottom grill.
Set the VOM to RX1 and remove one lead from the motor terminals. Probe
the terminals. If the reading is infinity, then replace the motor. The
magnetron and the wave guide may also be the culprits here. They need
to be serviced by a professional.
As
the one kitchen appliance that is always running, the refrigerator
should be expected to suffer some wear and tear. But Jeff points out
that a refrigerator problem often subtly announces itself through the
appearance of condensation or frost—long before the time comes when a
breakdown might be imminent. “Visually check the fridge, maybe once a
month,” says Jeff, “and if you see condensation or frost around the
insides of the doors, then that means you have an air leak.” Any pooling
water in the bottom of the fridge might indicate that the drain needs
to be looked at and possibly cleaned out. While replacing the gasket
and clearing the drain line are tasks that a homeowner can sometimes
complete, Jeff recommends they be left to a professional repairman to
avoid any mistakes that might create bigger problems later. Catching
the problems early is definitely a matter of making a visual
inspection of the refrigerator a regular part of your kitchen duties.
Another culprit that often contributes to refrigerator malfunction is
dirty condenser coils. Usually located on the back, top, or bottom of
the refrigerator, these coils help to cool the refrigerant. If the
coils accumulate lint, they can’t get rid of heat efficiently, and the
refrigerator’s compressor will work harder and use up more energy as a
result. So not only is regularly cleaning the coils an easy way to
prolong the life of your appliance and avoid repair calls, but it can
also save you money monthly by reducing power usage. And in a machine
that is always on, this can put a few extra dollars a month back into
your pocket.

ever read on switch mode power supplies. Because Jestine works as a
repair technician he is good at getting right to the main points we need
to understand about this kind of power supply rather than just being
good at general theory.

on LCD TVs are related to bad power supplies this is one book I highly

pictures. ======================================== The television
you see me repairing in this video is a Polaroid TDA03211C I have also
seen an almost identical power supply in a brand called Element. The
parts I replaced in this TV were Two N channel Mosfets. location was Q17
AND Q18 Both part numbers were FQPF9N50CF. The location of the
electrolytic capacitors is EC17 AND EC18 both were 10 MF at 450 volts.
Note. on some models they use Mylar capacitors which may not be bad.
Their location is C72 & C73. The blown fuse was located next to the
largest capacitor on the power supply board was location F2. It's a
3.16 amp fuse. It may be tricky to spot because its a glass fuse covered
in green plastic which makes it look like a resistor. Fuse F1 was okay
in this case. This power supply often has a bad Diode which can
contribute to problems. Its location is D10 someone suggested ECG 576
might be a good replacement for this diode but I have not verified their
suggestion. A word of caution. Many people who have this same power
supply have mistakenly assumed the large 150 mf 450 volt capacitor is
bad just because the plastic on it top is bulge from heat and air
pressure.
